What is rigid core flooring?

Rigid core flooring (also referred to as stone core LVP) is an engineered version of the luxury vinyl plank with a construction that makes it 100% waterproof. Unlike most vinyl known for flexibility, this has a strong feeling like a hard surface, such as genuine hardwood, tile, or stone flooring. In addition, these floors have a clicking mechanism, so the pieces fit together and hover over a clean, dry and level subfloor without nails or glue.

SPC cores

This flooring uses the SPC (stone plastic composite), a technologically advanced core that won't peel or ripple no matter how much water there is or for how long. This core makes the floor stiff, sturdy, and solid. While all vinyl is durable, these floors are even more so with superior dent resistance that can withstand the heavy traffic of commercial use. You will probably also hear the term WPC (wood plastic composite) while shopping; this, too, is technologically advanced core and has a softer, more cushion-like feeling of actual vinyl.

About luxury vinyl plank

With luxury vinyl (LVF), the material can be cut into strips and mounted on boards to mimic hardwood planks, LVP or cut into groutable squares to echo stone and tile. True-to-life images are taken with 3D photography, so they're clear and accurate with knots, raised grains, swirls, veining variations, and exciting tile patterns. In addition, the floors have micro beveling and embossing to add depth, dimension, and textured looks such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed.

LVF is durable, waterproof, low maintenance, and has an uncomplicated installation, especially when it's the floating floor.
