What type of textures can I get with SPC flooring?
Deep embossed and hand-scraped are just two of the textures you can get with SPC Flooring. Also referred to as Stone core LVP, this is an engineered version of luxury vinyl plank (LVP), a highly stylish, waterproof, and durable wood-look product. In addition, the floors come with a click-lock mechanism that makes installation a snap (pun intended).
Luxury vinyl vs. Stone core LVP
While vinyl is resilient, this is made with the technologically advanced SPC (stone plastic composite) core, providing the highest level of waterproof protection with a hard, rigid feeling underfoot like that of a hard surface, such as hardwood or stone flooring. That surface also allows it to stand up to indentations and any wear, mainly in busy, highly trafficked commercial facilities.
As with any luxury vinyl, images are made with 3D photography, vibrancy, and accuracy. Micro beveling and embossing add depth, dimension, and textured appearances, and the floors are available in matte, gloss, and high gloss finishes.
Deep Embossed: the most popular texture
The most sought-after finish, deep embossed, maintains the look of wood, grain, swirls, knots, and striations. This gives the vinyl flooring more of an authentic, high-quality appearance that is classic and especially suitable for rustic decors.
Other textures include:
Embossed in Register or EIR: This is an even more amped-up version of deep embossed. Again, EIR follows the grain patterns with dentations lining up perfectly with the image, giving the floor a 3D look.
Hand-scraped: These floors highlight imperfections, such as burns and scrapes, making the surface look aged, worn, and distressed. It's a charm reminiscent of long-gone days.
Crystal embossed: This surface looks like raindrops, offering a more casual look. Crystal embossed is suitable for most color tones, but especially walnut and cherry.
